Region A Training Center The Region A Training Center is a Smart Start funded program through The Region A Partnership for Children and provides training and technical assistance to providers in childcare centers, family childcare homes and public Pre-K programs serving children birth to five throughout Region A (Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, and Swain Counties and the Qualla Boundary). Included are on-site visits; accessible regional trainings and individual consultations aimed at assisting programs toward higher quality care for young children. Additionally, the Region A Training Center provides support services to programs striving to maintain and/or increase their current star rating in accordance with the North Carolina Division of Child Developments requirements. Ongoing assistance is offered to all programs.
The Region A Training Center supports activities to promote collaboration between other service agencies such as, Southwestern Child Development Commission, Inc., local community colleges, local health departments, and public schools to assure all children in childcare, birth to five, have safe, secure, developmentally appropriate environments in which to thrive and grow.
