It is our mission, in partnership with families and communities, to protect, preserve and promote health, growth and learning in children, families and ourselves.
The Primary goal of Head Start is to produce optimal development of children and families so they can live satisfying, productive and self-sufficient lives. A comprehensive approach addresses education, social, health, nutrition, adult development, transportation and mental health -- based on family needs. These include income, disabilities, environmental factors and other specific needs.
Classrooms operate four days per week, Monday through Thursday, ten months of the year. Head Start vehicles transport children beginning at 8 am and return them home by 4 pm. Children are served a nutritious breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
Built upon a long-standing commitment to quality, all MPP Head Start Centers are AA licensed and fully accredited by the National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC). Teachers, assistants and other staff are highly trained and qualified.
