MPP is a private, non-profit community action agency whose mission is to mobilize local, state and federal resources to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in Macon County, North Carolina.

In partnership with parents and communities, we strive to nurture healthy growth and learning in children, families, and ourselves. MPP administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM.

HUD Rental Assistance Program

The HUD Rental Assistance Program is currently closed to new applications. Due to an overwhelming number of applicants and a very lengthy waiting list this program is not accepting new applications. The application process will reopen once the number on the waiting list is attainable. Thank you for your interest in this program.

Current Job Opening

Macon Program for Progress Highlands Head Start Part-Time Teacher Assistant: 10 month/20 hours per week. High School diploma/GED required. Experience with preschool children preferred. Must be able to motivate and nurture young children and their families and work well with others. Must have a valid NC driver’s license. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal record check is required.
